As a result of a partnership with one of the leading providers of energy bureau services we are now able to offer a fully web-enabled bureau service, which allows users to monitor consumption and costs, both for their complete energy portfolio, and on a site-by-site basis. This is an invaluable tool to help you not only with budgeting and accounting, but also, as energy efficiency becomes a company-wide issue, our bureau service will prove indispensible for meeting efficiency targets.

The user-friendly, web-based interface allows you to create a variety of reports enabling you to view data on daily, monthly or yearly basis, or for any specified date range.

The bureau service comprises:

Bill Checking

EnergyQuote's bureau service will validate all your energy bills with a 24-hour turnaround. We will resolve any supplier billing errors and send an electronic “accounts payable” feed to your accounts department confirming which bills require payment. Fifty-five automated checks are performed on each bill to ensure the required level of accuracy is achieved. Furthermore, where the bill validation rejects the bill, an experienced data controller will review the error and resolve the issue where possible.

Monitoring and targeting

Our automated system uses algorithms to forecast energy profiles and financial expenditure based on historic data for each site. A suite of products is then used to assist in budgeting and tracking expenditure. Through the software you are able to monitor the energy patterns for each of your sites and identify key areas for energy savings. Monitoring and targeting will become vital for companies as the Emissions trading scheme approaches and companies are financially incentivised to reduce CO2 emissions via the trading of carbon credits.

Energy Audits

Energy Audits are for customers who are eager to improve their energy efficiency, both to reduce unit costs and to mitigate Climate Change Levy (CCL), but may not know where to begin or what to do.

Energy Audits can produce potential cost reductions for a site of between 10%-25% depending on how much work has been carried out previously. Surprisingly it is often sites where it is believed that little or no savings can be achieved that the biggest opportunities for large reductions in costs arise.

Our rapid results surveys are carried out by professional engineers who specialise in energy management, are highly cost effective and normally completed in a few days.

The main benefits to you are:
The audit will illustrate avenues of exploration that may well enable the customer to mitigate the impact of the Climate Change Levy.

The resultant proposals will help you in coordinating and codifying your Company's energy efficiency intentions and mapping out the route to achieving these.

Your company will now have a clear indication of the consequences of accepting green energy options.

This audit will highlight how your company can meet its environmental objectives and will detail what return on investment you can expect to see during the associated payback period.

99% of Audits carried out produce 'no cost' or 'low cost' recommendations that will pay for the cost of the audit in a few short weeks.

Water Audits

Water bills typically account for over 1% of business turnover. It may not seem a lot but water has many hidden costs that are not taken normally taken into account when analysing water consumption. Most businesses incur costs for their water including a fixed charge element for provision, charges for supply, waste and disposal.

Adopting a more formal system for managing your water usage, and ensuring that inefficiencies are eradicated, could result in annualised savings in excess of £12,000.

The benefits to watching your water

Most companies for example can reduce their water consumption by between 20-50%, which could feasibly negate the price increases that companies are experiencing as a result of rising energy costs.
Because in the current climate of spiralling electricity and gas costs, anything you can do to minimise costs in other areas could mean the difference between a profitable and an unprofitable business. The other major benefit to being more water conscious is the added kudos you will gain from being seen to be a socially-responsible organisation, and adopting best environmental practices that set you apart from your competitors.

How do I get started?

The first step is to request your FREE telephone consultation and desktop analysis , to identify whether there are likely to be actions that can be implemented to improve your water efficiency. This will include:

An examination of all your water bills to find out exactly how much your water costs you. This will help you identify standing charges, consumption, and wastewater charges.

The potential for sewerage abatements, trade effluent and surface water drainage

Identification of the most beneficial tariffs.

If, after the initial consultation, we have identified potential for savings, you are then advised to undertake a full EnergyQuote water review – a one day site visit that will examine all facets of your water usage, highlighting any inefficiencies and measures that can be undertaken to improve your performance. The site review will include:

An analysis of how, where and why water is being used at a particular time.

Confirmation of meter size and a stop check of flow rates.

  Detection of leaks.

The identification of no-cost and low-cost measures that can be undertaken to reduce water usage, and capital investment projects with their associated payback period.

A detailed report identifying and quantifying refunds , credits and savings, delivered within 48 hours of survey, with our recommendations for improvements.

The report will tell you any financial investment needed to implement the measures and what the expected payback is.

What types of measures can I take?

Examples of measures that are typically recommended in the Water review Report, that follows the 1-day site visit, include:

Good housekeeping measures such as ensuring water-using appliances are turned off when not in use and fixing dripping taps promptly.

  Leak detection and repair.

  Installing low and dual-flush toilets.

Installing supply restrictor valves to keep the water flow constant.

Greywater recycling – involves using wastewater from washroom basins and showers and using for flushing toilets or outside watering.

The report will tell you any financial investment needed to implement the measures and what the expected payback is.

Saving: £800 per year.

Did you know…?

In some parts of the UK, high population density means that water availability per person is more scarce than in parts of Africa.

The average UK office worker uses 50 litres of water a day.

A tap that drips every second wastes 4 litres of water a day.

Old toilet cisterns can use as much as 9 litres of clean water every flush. By comparison, new cisterns use a maximum of 6 litres every flush.

Pre-Tender Anlysis:

There are a number of different ways to evaluate current contract prices – but the most effective one is to take similar portfolios of sites, which EnergyQuote negotiated at the same time as the client renewed his/her current contracts, and observe whether there is a monetary difference between the prices being obtained by EnergyQuote at that time, and the prices obtained by the client. This evaluation will take cognisance of the prevailing market conditions, and wholesale market prices, to further establish whether this was the right time to buy and what margin existed in the prices being delivered.

To convince you of the benefits of using EnergyQuote, we will provide:

A profiled analysis of the current contractual position for the client on a site by site basis taking into account current contractual obligations

A detailed analysis of the exact period when a contract was last purchased – focusing on the rationale behind the date and suggesting improvements which can be applied to on-going thinking

A sample of sites contracted by EnergyQuote for the same period as the client. Comparisons will take into account:
- Load Factor
- Consumption
- REC Area
- Voltage Level
- Site Load Shape
- Process of Site
- Comparable process of business

Financial comparison against EnergyQuote's sites and the Client's sites on a like for like study.

Removal of Wholesale market movement between EnergyQuote's position and the clients to eliminate savings through timing to market improvements – leaving only the financial comparison of Energy Costs.

Pre-Tender Forecasting:

Although very difficult to predict it is possible to undertake analysis on potential contract positions within the next 12-24 months. For this we would:

Look at current forward wholesale markets and evaluate trends and patterns which indicate movement over the forthcoming period

Apply movements to the Energy only portion of the contract representative to wholesale predictions

Provide the client with a price banding on a site by site basis

Factor in movements in DUOS, TUOS, Renrewables Obligation and green taxes.

Post Tender:

Upon instruction EnergyQuote can look to provide a number of additional benchmarking services alongside the E-Sourcing Event. These include:
Analysis of the current contracted position against the historic position taking into account movement in the wholesale market on the Energy portion of your contract.

Analysis on movement in DUOS & TUOS rates within each REC area a client site exists and how this applies to the site.

Analysis of Renewable Obligation changes and how these apply to each site.

Changes in legislation and/or regulations which may have an impact on the client

Participation of suppliers and reasons why certain decisions took place (i.e. which suppliers participated and which were not in the market)
